Host of the 2017 Northwest Tournment
Fred Watanabe attended along with his family and received the "lifetime membership" award from the PCGC for the contributions he had given to the club. Among the accolades was the Pacific Rim Tournament, which became an annual event at Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City. He was applauded for his "vision and courage" to host a grand NW Tournament in 2005, despite the limited "safety net" of funds in the treasury. The 2009 NW Tournament included a Helicopter Ball Drop in which over 1000 balls were sold and the success of the tournament netted $2000.00. This led to giving $500 back to the club for door prizes and finding a philanthropic partner as a beneficiary of a $1500.00 donation. Fred vetted various organizations that served the Asian community and found Fook Lok (Loaves & Fishes) had minimal administrative overhead and the staff really cared for the people they served. The 2013 NW Tournament was also successful as the out of town guests had very positive feedback for the whole experience. So as we look forward to hosting in 2017, we once again asked Fred if he would take the reins and he had no answer. The club has benefited for having a member such as Fred and we can't thank him enough for his dedication and contribution to the PCGC
Fook Lok - Loaves & Fishes Center:    Mary Gagnon along with Ron Wong and Yen Bee were our honored guest for the evening. Madam President April Okazaki presented a check for $300.00 to Fook Lok. Mary thanked the club and recounted her memories of meeting Fred and how this has been a wonderful relationship with the PCGC.

|Grand Prize - NW Entry Fee
This is the 3rd year the club has sponsored an entry to the NW Tournament as a way to promote the event and also encourage members to attend. We had Fred Watanabe draw the lucky winner and he selected Clark Louie.
Rhonda Kaneshige did a great job in selling $680.00 worth of raffle tickets. With a prize pot of $340.00 the group was given the choice on one winner or multiple winners and it was agreed to split the prizes.

Michael Yee [Must need more shoes for baby as he won last year too
Ron Wong [Will he donate the money to Fook Lok?]

Dan's BBQ is traditionally held after the final day of the Club's two day Championship Tournament. Everyone heads for Dan's as soon as they finish their round. The attendees bring something to BBQ and Dan's hougmongous gas BBQ grill. Dan provides his famous ribs and last year we had razor clams that Dan dug, cleans, and grilled. Man they we de..li..ous. There's always a pot of fresh sweet corn on the the stove. The beverages are top shelf. And of couse, do we need to mention--the company is sophicated, sauve, and hip.
Marvin and Liz know how to party with the best. They traditional have provided a main entree, rice, beer and wine. Attendees are requested to bring a favorite dish, salad, pasta, or dessert. Given the diversity of the clubs membership you can just imagine the breadth of dishes.
You can sit out on their 10X40 foot back porch and catch-up with friends, acquaintence, or fellow competitors. Tell a few stories, swap a few tall tales, or golf stories and jokes.
For the long ball hitter in the club, you can try and hit golf balls across the Willamette or maybe take a speedboat trip up and down the river.
You can watch your favorite sporting event on TV or try you hand at a friendly game of some kind of poker or other card games
We're hoping that 2016 will prove less hectic for the Lee's and that they'll be able to host their potluck while attending to new family members, and weddings.
